I’ve loved cameras and filmmaking for as long as I can remember. What started with filming family moments at Christmas eventually led me into movie theaters, feature-film editing, wedding videography, and ultimately Star City Creations.
Today, I get to use that experience to preserve moments people can return to for years to come.
🎬 From Movie Theaters to Wedding Films
My fascination with video began when I was young. I was always the one with the camera, especially during family gatherings and Christmas mornings.
That interest eventually led me to work as a projectionist at several Roanoke-area theaters. From there, I had an opportunity few people ever get — working as an apprentice editor on three feature films: Major Payne, The Shadow Conspiracy, and That Darn Cat.
After those experiences, I began filming small weddings, including weddings for friends and one as a gift for my sister. Then my wife asked a simple question:
“Why don’t you turn this into a career?”
I thought, “That’s a great idea.”
And Star City Creations was born.
🎥 Capture the real moments
I prefer genuine reactions and naturally unfolding moments over turning your wedding into a movie set.
