Daisy & Nathan’s Wedding – A Celebration Rooted in Love

Some wedding ceremonies are beautiful because of the setting. Others stand out because of the words spoken, the emotions shared, and the story behind the couple.

Daisy and Nathan’s wedding had all of those things.

Surrounded by family, friends, nature, and the peaceful beauty of the trees around them, Daisy and Nathan celebrated not only their wedding day, but a relationship that had already been growing for more than seven years.

As a wedding videographer, ceremonies like this are exactly why I love preserving the complete story of a wedding day. The laughter, pauses, tears, personal vows, music, and little unscripted moments are things photographs alone simply cannot capture.

A Love Story Seven and a Half Years in the Making

Daisy and Nathan’s story began while the two were working at the same restaurant in Indiana.

Daisy worked in the front of the restaurant while Nathan worked in the back as a cook. She would sometimes wander into the kitchen singing, something Nathan apparently found pretty enchanting.

There was even a memorable misunderstanding involving someone telling Daisy that Nathan spoke German. She approached him speaking German—only to discover that Nathan had no idea what she was saying!

Fortunately, the language mix-up didn’t hurt their chances.

The two began dating, and eventually Nathan worked up the courage to ask Daisy if he could kiss her on the cheek. At the last second, Daisy turned her head and got the kiss she really wanted.

Seven and a half years later, they were standing together in front of their family and friends, ready to become husband and wife.

A Ceremony Filled With Family, Friendship and Meaning

From the beginning, Daisy and Nathan’s ceremony placed a wonderful emphasis on being fully present.

Their guests were encouraged to put away their phones and simply experience the ceremony together—a sentiment I especially appreciate as a wedding videographer.

Their officiant spoke about the importance of family and friendship throughout Daisy and Nathan’s relationship and recognized the many people who helped guide them to this moment.

Their families were even invited to stand and publicly offer their blessing and support as Daisy and Nathan joined their lives—and their families—through marriage.

There were also several meaningful readings throughout the ceremony, each reflecting themes of love, change, compassion and the journey of building a life together.

One especially fitting reading compared lasting love to the Blue Ridge Mountains, shaped and softened over time by countless seasons.

It was a beautiful reflection of what marriage can become: two people continuing to grow and change while walking beside one another.

Personal Wedding Vows Filled With Emotion

One of the most powerful parts of Daisy and Nathan’s wedding ceremony came when they exchanged their personal vows.

These are the moments when wedding videography becomes especially meaningful.

Daisy began by reflecting on the thousands of days they had already spent choosing one another.

Their years together had included moves, career changes, graduate school, difficult family circumstances, lean times and plenty of everyday life in between.

Yet through everything, they continued choosing each other.

Her vows focused beautifully on appreciating the time they have together and treating each new day as a gift—whether that day involves something as monumental as their wedding or simply going to work and coming home to one another.

Nathan’s vows were equally heartfelt.

He remembered hearing Daisy sing when they first met and spoke about how she had become his constant companion, steadfast supporter, greatest champion and partner in life.

And just like any great set of wedding vows, there was plenty of personality mixed in with the emotion.

Nathan promised everything from listening and supporting Daisy’s dreams to growing gardens, dancing together, loving their cats and even rubbing her feet when necessary!

Those little personal details are what make wedding films so valuable. Years from now, Daisy and Nathan will not only be able to remember what was said—they will be able to hear the laughter, see each other’s expressions and experience the emotion of those moments again.

Planting Something That Will Grow With Their Marriage

After exchanging vows and wedding rings, Daisy and Nathan added another especially meaningful element to their ceremony: planting a tree together.

The tree featured heart-shaped leaves and represented the marriage they were beginning.

Each used a separate trowel to add soil, symbolizing the individual gifts they each bring into their relationship. They then shared one watering can, representing their mutual responsibility for nurturing their marriage and helping it continue to grow.

The symbolism was perfect.

Like the tree, their marriage will experience sunny days and rainy ones. It will need care, patience and attention. And with time, both the tree and their relationship will continue putting down deeper roots.

## Surrounded by the People Who Matter Most

Before Daisy and Nathan were officially pronounced husband and wife, their guests were also invited to make a commitment.

Family and friends were asked whether they would continue encouraging and supporting the couple throughout their marriage.

Their enthusiastic response filled the ceremony with yet another wonderful reminder that a marriage involves more than two people standing together on a wedding day. It is also strengthened by the family and friendships surrounding them.

Finally, after the vows, rings, readings, music and tree planting, Daisy and Nathan were pronounced **husband and wife** and shared the first kiss of their marriage to the applause of everyone gathered around them.

And with that, it was time to celebrate!

Preserving More Than Just the Wedding Day

Daisy and Nathan’s wedding was a wonderful example of why I believe wedding videography is about much more than simply recording an event.

It is about preserving voices.

It is about remembering the way someone laughed during the vows.

It is about hearing the words spoken by parents, friends and loved ones.

It is about seeing the look on two people’s faces as they promise to spend their lives together.

And it is about capturing all of those moments so they can still be experienced years—and eventually decades—after the wedding day itself.

It was a pleasure for Star City Creations to preserve Daisy and Nathan’s wedding story.

Congratulations again, Daisy and Nathan. May the love, laughter and deep roots that were so evident on your wedding day continue growing for many years to come.
